#BlackLivesMatter
People of color are still seeing the most biased, degrading, and unfair treatment than any other minority group…
#BlackLivesMatter, developed digitally going viral on twitter in 2013, is a current international activist movement started by 3 queer women of color. It's a global network campaigning against violence and systematic racism towards black people. No this is not a movement that is anti-white, anti-police, or anti-America!

This movement created a trend of mobilizing people to use the tools online to connect with one another and to have more access to what is happening in our country with black people. The tools online help us notice how unjust hate crimes, brutality, our government systems, and racism are towards black people. The impact of digital technology helps gives this movement so much power.
#BlackLivesMatter does not support hatred of any kind and is not against anything or anyone. The importance of this movement is unity and promoting fair and equal justice while overlooking sexuality, age, incarceration, disabilities, gender, migrant status, economic statuses or anything that seems to divide us. Love and connection is what drives this movement and gets us to come together as one and fight for ALL black lives.
